Helping Others — Meditative Review Of Emotions

Helping Others

Meditative Review Of Emotions

Sometimes a person is so involved in emotions (such as disappointment, anger, frustration, or confusion created by misunderstandings or deceptions) that there seems no way out.

This meditation may help the person accept and integrate their emotions and allow their belief system to be more flexible:

Pack a time in the past to start from, such as yesterday or last Sunday or a week ago. The time you choose doesn't really matter as long as it's not so far back that the person might get tired of the meditation before its done.

Relax and review every emotion felt from the picked time to the present – one by one. Just let them come up and then go on their way. They need not linger, just go by slow enough for recognition and acceptance. Even if the emotion seems the same as a previous emotion, recognize it in its own right. When the review is done, make the statement, "I'm now ready to begin anew!"
