You — Laughter

There are many different reasons for laughing. And sometimes there is no immediately perceived reason.

A person can laugh when hearing of another's misfortune; a laugh that says, "I'm glad it didn't happen to me!" Sometimes a person laughs when perceiving something illogical that nevertheless works out; a laugh that stores the knowledge gained for future use. A laugh can also be used as a cover for a mistake or a fear of making a mistake, or for covering up personal confusion. Laughing can be used as a tool for strengthening friendship (laughing with rather than at). A person can laugh because of pure joy.

Regardless of the reason, laughter can be a release. It can relieve tension, simplify confusion, express joy, and help to orient one more toward the light – it can lighten the load.
